American Music Awards 2021: Full list of AMA nominations; Taylor Swift, BTS and Olivia Rodrigo nominated for Artist of the Year
AMA debut Olivia Rodrigo leads the pack with seven nominations, including Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year.
Five-time winner The Weeknd scored six nods, followed closely behind by Bad Bunny, Doja Cat and Giveon with five nominations each.
2020 Artist of the Year winner Taylor Swift, also the record holder for the most AMA wins of all time with 32, is nominated again in the category, taking on other global superstars such as BTS , Ariana Grande and Drake.

A new category, Favorite Trending Song, names the most viral songs of 2021 based on data compiled from TikTok. They are:

Voting is now open until November 16. The winners of the American Music Awards are entirely determined by the fans – just search for “AMAs” on TikTok or click here to vote.
The nominees are derived from interactions with fans such as streaming, album sales, song sales and radio broadcast between September 25, 2020 and September 23, 2021.
The show takes place on ABC live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 21 at 8 p.m. ET / PT | 7 p.m. HC. Artists and presenters are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Country artist Morgan Wallen, who was condemned by the music industry for using a racial slur in a video that was leaked in February, will not be included in this year’s ceremony, the showrunners said in a statement.
“Morgan Wallen is nominated this year based on charts. As his conduct does not align with our core values, we will not include him on the show in any capacity (playing, presenting, accepting). progress in doing meaningful work as an ally of the black community and will consider participating in future shows, ”the statement said.
