Disneyland All-American Group Suspends 50th Anniversary Season Due To COVID-19 Pandemic – Orange County Register
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has forced the Disneyland All-American College Band to suspend its next summer 2020 season which would have marked the organization’s 50th anniversary at the Anaheim theme park.
âAs these times continue to be unprecedented and ever-changing, we have made the difficult decision to put the All-American College Band program on hold for 2020,â the organization said on its Facebook page. âDue to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and the amount of planning, coordination and travel involved in delivering this program, we felt it was the right decision to make at this time. . “

The two Anaheim theme parks, the three hotels and the Disney outdoor mall remain closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 1971, the All-American College Band has performed in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, along Main Street USA and in Disneyland’s Town Square.
âConsidering the history Disneyland shares with the All-American College Band program, this decision was not taken lightly and we certainly understand how disappointing it will be for many,â according to the group’s Facebook page. .

The marching band accompanies Disney favorites such as “Under the Sea” and “Let It Go” with iconic dance moves that have made it a fan favorite in the park.
âThe group brings incredible energy to our resort and joy to our guests every summer,â according to the group’s Facebook page. âThe passion and talents of the band members will be sorely missed this year. “
Members of the group are selected annually from over 300 applicants from colleges across the United States. The hands-on training is designed to prepare band members for careers in the music industry.
