Grammy-nominated, multi-award winning American music winner arrives at Tri-Cities
Grammy-nominated Christian group MercyMe will perform in the Tri-Cities in April.
The multi-award-winning group will perform at the Tri-Cities Toyota Center in Kennewick on April 8.
Presale tickets are available Tuesday, November 30 at 10 a.m. until December 2 at midnight.
MercyMe was named Best Christian Artist by Billboard for the 2010 decade and received its eighth American Music Award nomination last year.
They are also winners of an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award and a Dove Award, according to a press release.
The opening of MercyMe will be the Rend Collective and Andrew Ripp.
The “Inhale (Exhale) Tour” will begin in Nashville, Tenn., In February and visit 36 cities in the United States, reaching the Northwest in the spring.
Other Northwest shows include Portland, Oregon on April 7, followed by Kennewick (April 8), Everett (April 9) and Spokane (April 10).
The first four performances of the tour were rescheduled shows that were postponed from the fall tour due to the COVID pandemic.
A film based on the life of frontman Bart Millard, who wrote their hit song, “I Can Only Imagine,” after the loss of his father, was released in 2018 by Lionsgate, Roadside Attractions.
Along with the release, Millard wrote memoirs and the band released a collection of hits titled “I Can Only Imagine – The Very Best Of MercyMe,” the release said.
The same year, the group was named Top Christian Artist at the Billboard Music Awards.
Since its debut in 2001, the group has sold more than 9 million CDs, singles and DVDs, the statement said.
The album Inhale (Exhale) is their 10th.
