Megan Thee Stallion withdraws from American Music Awards performance with BTS – manila bulletin
Rapper Megan Thee Stallion will no longer perform with K-pop idol group BTS at the American Music Awards (AMA), which will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. EST / PST on November 21 (9 a.m. on November 22 in the Philippines).
BTS and Megan Thee Stallion were scheduled to take the stage at the AMAs for the televised world premiere of K-pop boy group’s hit song “Butter.”
A day before the AMAs, Megan Thee Stallion announced on Twitter that she will not be able to attend the AMAs.
“The hotties I was so excited to go to @AMAs and play with @BTS_official, but due to some unexpected personal issue I can’t attend anymore. I’m so sad! Can’t wait to get on on stage with my guys and playing #BTS_Butter real soon! ”according to Megan Thee Stallion.
The AMAs retweeted her post and commented, “We will miss you, @theestallion!
Despite this, the AMAs have confirmed that BTS will still be playing “Butter” at the AMAs and will do another performance with Coldplay.
“We can’t wait for @BTS_twt to perform TWICE tomorrow!” It all starts at 8 / 7c on ABC. #BTSxAMAs ”, according to AMAs.
The AMAs announced earlier that Coldplay and BTS will perform “My Universe” at the awards show, billed as their “first live performance” of the song.
BTS also posted “We’re bringing ‘My Universe’ to @AMA with our friends @coldplay” while Coldplay tweeted, “Coldplay X BTS. The first time together on stage.
At AMAs 2021, BTS are nominated for Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop Duo or Group, and Favorite Pop Song.
Last year BTS won Favorite Duo or Group-Pop / Rock and Favorite Social Artist. They have won six times at the AMAs.
At last year’s AMAs, BTS performed Seoul’s “Dynamite” and “Life Goes On”.
