The Franco-American group Le Douze brings Trippy Reggae to ‘Fruits Of My Life’ –
The French-American group Le Douze traveled to a cultural center called Les Franciscaines in the seaside resort of Deauville to shoot a live performance of their new song “Fruits Of My Life”, bringing together a groovy and earthy sound.
Composed of drummer and singer David Boutherre, keyboardist Frédéric Scamps and guitarist-producer Maxime Lebidous, they are joined by backing vocalist and keyboardist Jessica Rock, as well as a bassist to deliver a regular and full-bodied sound amidst amber lighting. , layered visuals and more. All of this gives an atmospheric vibe that transforms into a jagged Lebidous solo and shimmering keyboard tracks from Scamps.
Formed during the pandemic in mid-2020, Scamps, Boutherre and Lebidous created âFruits Of My Lifeâ as an introspective record. Boutherre says: â’Fruits of my life’ is the story of someone who has been away from home for a long, long time. Someone who comes back to their home country to take care of and be taken care of by those they love the most.
Scamps adds that the recording was made on the west coast of France. “We sang and then we went to the water, the apartment was right in front of the beach and the sea”, explains the keyboardist. The quiet side of the song is reflected precisely in this setting. Scamps says, âWe thought about swimming with the dolphins, being back from Babylon after a long tour, like Roman soldiers 2,000 years ago. We just wanted to stay here, be with the wine and the family.
The song will also be accompanied by a video with lyrics and is part of an upcoming full album scheduled for later this year.
